Job description
6 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- The Administrative
Support Officer will provide high‑quality clerical and administrative support
to the Shared Lives team, ensuring the smooth running of office functions and
contributing to the effectiveness of the service. The postholder will assist
with diary management, appointment scheduling, minute taking, record keeping,
and general administrative duties. The role includes occasional supervisory
responsibilities and direct support to service users where appropriate. The
officer will uphold the Council’s Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Data
Protection, and Customer Care policies at all time.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Team
Manager and wider Shared Lives team, including producing letters, reports,
photocopying, filing, and preparing documentation.
- Maintain diaries, arrange appointments, book rooms, and
organise meetings and events.
- Take clear and accurate notes/minutes at meetings and
produce them in a timely manner.
- Assist with mail handling, including collecting, organising,
and distributing mail to relevant staff.
- Support the production and distribution of mail‑outs,
letters, and newsletters on behalf of the service.
- Use IT systems and software packages to prepare reports,
statistics, spreadsheets, agendas, and correspondence.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working in an administrative role within a busy
team or service.
- Experience preparing, collating, and distributing
information, mail‑outs, letters, and reports.
- Experience working with people with learning disabilities
and/or within a social care setting in an administrative capacity (desirable).
Essential Qualifications Required
- Good standard of
general education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent).
- Training or
qualifications in administration, customer service, or business support
(desirable).
- Willingness to
undertake relevant training for professional development.

- Working hours: 35 hours per week
- We work on Bi weekly payment schedule
