4-month contract with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 4-month contract with a local authority, where the Advanced Practitioner will provide high-quality, person-centred safeguarding services to adults at risk. The role is crucial in ensuring timely and effective responses to referrals, supporting the team in managing a waiting list of safeguarding referrals, and applying professional expertise and leadership to complex cases.
Responsibilities
  • Lead on complex safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014.
  • Undertake risk assessments and develop protection plans in collaboration with service users, families, and partner agencies.
  • Provide professional supervision and support to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using appropriate case management systems.
  • Liaise with health professionals, police, housing, and other agencies to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and represent the safeguarding team as required.
Essential Experience Required
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in adult social care.
  • Proven experience in safeguarding adults and managing complex cases.
  • Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
  • Experience working in a multi-agency environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Essential Qualification Required
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  • This is a hybrid role requiring flexibility to work from home, office, and attend client visits.
