Job Purpose
- The Assistive Technology Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery and implementation of Technology Enabled Care (TEC) services across Telford & Wrekin. This position is vital in helping adults and older individuals maintain their independence, safety, and wellbeing through the effective use of assistive technology. The officer will work closely with Adult Social Care practitioners, offering specialist advice, conducting assessments, and facilitating the installation and use of suitable technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the operational delivery and ongoing development of assistive technology services across the region.
- Work in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act, conducting Mental Capacity Assessments and acting as a decision maker for individuals lacking capacity.
- Complete Best Interest Decisions related to assistive technology, especially when solutions involve monitoring or supervision.
- Conduct assessments for adults and older people with complex needs, identifying opportunities for TEC interventions.
- Recommend, demonstrate, and arrange the installation of assistive technology solutions to promote independence.
Requirements

- Essential Experience Required
- Experience working within Adult Social Care, health, or a related setting.
- Practical experience in assessing individuals’ needs and recommending support solutions.
- Experience with assistive technology or Technology Enabled Care services.
- Experience managing a caseload and working with individuals with complex needs.
- Experience working within Adult Social Care, health, or a related setting.
- Essential Qualifications Required
- Enhanced DBS (Adults & Children’s Barred List) – essential.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.
- Relevant qualification in health, social care, occupational therapy, or a related field (desirable).
- Enhanced DBS (Adults & Children’s Barred List) – essential.

- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Location: Telford & Wrekin.
