3 month Contract With A local Authority


Job Purpose

To provide a professional surveying service, delivering technical expertise and management of a broad range of building repair works, adaptations, and party wall matters. The Building Surveyor will ensure projects are delivered efficiently, in compliance with statutory and local regulations, and to a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive surveying and technical services, including diagnosis, specification, design, and facilitation of building repair works and adaptations.

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, including programming, contractor supervision, and ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the required quality.

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain practices and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality, customer-focused service.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with applicants, residents, contractors, supply chain partners, internal departments, and external agencies to achieve best value outcomes.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in building practices, offering professional guidance and advice across a variety of projects.



Requirements

  • Minimum HNC in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification.

  • Proven experience in general building surveying, adaptations, repairs, and party wall matters.

  • Strong knowledge of statutory and local building regulations.

  • Experience managing building projects from inception to completion.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Ability to work three days per week in the office (Tooley Street, London Bridge) with remaining days flexible/home-based.
