Summary

  • The Programme Manager will spearhead the Family Homes for Plymouth Children programme, a pivotal transformation initiative within Children’s Services. This role is crucial in integrating multiple workstreams to redesign service support for children and families in crisis. The aim is to enhance outcomes, minimize the necessity for residential care, and achieve substantial financial savings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of the Family Homes for Plymouth Children programme.
  • Develop and manage integrated programme plans, ensuring alignment across all workstreams.
  • Drive transformation initiatives to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Ensure programme delivery meets agreed timelines, objectives, and financial targets.
  • Redesign service delivery models to better support children and families in crisis.
  • Lead initiatives to:
    • Keep children safely within their families wherever possible.
    • Reduce reliance on residential care.
    • Match children in residential care to suitable foster placements.
    • Develop local residential provision within Plymouth.
    • Support the development of enhanced support for foster carers managing complex needs.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in programme or project management within complex organizations.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience working within Children’s Services or a related public sector environment.
  • Experience delivering service redesign and improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualification in programme or project management (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP) – desirable.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • Enhanced DBS Required.

  • Work pattern: 4 days in the office, 1 day remote
