Job Purpose

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at Lowes Wong Anglican/Methodist Junior School. The role involves cleaning classrooms and other designated areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained to support the wellbeing of pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Clean classrooms and designated school areas to required standards.
  
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust surfaces as required.
  
• Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and communal areas.
  
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  
• Replenish cleaning supplies and consumables where required.
  
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
  
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
  
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the appropriate person.
  
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school.
  
• Work independently and efficiently within designated cleaning schedules.
  

Essential Experience Required

• Previous cleaning experience within a commercial, educational, healthcare, or public sector environment.
  
• Experience maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  
• Experience working within a school environment is desirable.
  

Essential Qualifications Required

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (Essential).
  
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and health and safety requirements.
  
• Relevant cleaning qualification desirable but not essential.
  

Additional Information to Note

•  Working hours: 22.5 hours per week
  
• Split shift: 06:30 - 08:30 and 15:15 - 17:45.
  
• Enhanced DBS Check required.
  
• We work on bi weekly payment schedule.
