The Digital Systems Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the administration, development, and training of the department's business-critical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile data transfers between multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness for period-end and year-end processes within corporate deadlines.
- Support the effective operation of departmental systems to meet business needs, ensuring alignment with internal and external processes.
- Provide front-line systems support and deliver training to over 300 users across the department.
- Assist with system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements, promoting innovative and efficient digital practices.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, ensuring systems deliver real-time, reliable data across services.
- Undertake system-related activities including investigation, feasibility studies, analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation.
- Analyse application requirements, produce reports, and make recommendations to ensure robust and resilient system performance.
- Support the implementation and development of new systems, ensuring thorough testing and integrity before deployment.
- Monitor service delivery issues and system performance, identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to project and departmental groups for continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications
- Higher Diploma in IT or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Proven experience in an IT systems role.
Essential Experience
- Experience in IT system support, maintenance, and development.
- Proven experience integrating data across multiple systems and databases.
- Experience supporting users, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and systems.
- Understanding of statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements within a systems environment.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop or support programming/coding enhancements using innovative approaches.
