3-month contract with a local authority

Summary

Responsibilities

• Operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle to deliver and collect waste and recycling bins.
  
• Load, unload, and position bins safely at customer or council properties.
  
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report defects promptly.
  
• Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules.
  
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
  
• Ensure compliance with all driving regulations, including safe use of the vehicle.
  
• Handle manual lifting and movement of bins in line with health and safety guidelines.
  
• Complete delivery records and paperwork accurately, including the use of handheld devices where required.
  

Essential Experience

• Experience driving a 7.5 tonne (Category C1) vehicle.
  
• Experience in delivery driving, waste services, or a similar field (desirable).
  
• Experience working in a physically demanding role.
  

Essential Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 tonne entitlement).
  
• Valid Driver CPC (DQC card).
  
• Digital tachograph card.
  
• Good understanding of driving regulations and road safety.
  

Additional Information

• Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
  
• No working from home available.
  
• We operate on a bi-weekly schedule.
