Job Purpose
  • The EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) Coordinator plays a key role in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role involves coordinating the assessment, development, and review of EHCPs in line with statutory requirements, ensuring timely and effective communication with families, schools, and professionals.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the statutory assessment process for EHCPs, ensuring compliance with SEND Code of Practice
  • Liaise with families, schools, health and social care professionals to gather relevant information
  • Draft, review, and amend EHCPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor and track EHCP timelines to ensure statutory deadlines are met
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, annual reviews, and case conferences
  • Provide advice and guidance to parents/carers regarding the EHCP process

Essential Experience Required

  • Previous experience working within SEND services or education settings
  • Strong understanding of the EHCP process and SEND legislation
  • Experience in multi-agency working and stakeholder engagement

Essential Qualification Required

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Psychology)
  • Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
