3 Month Contract With A Local Authority

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and passionate Gardener to maintain and enhance the beauty of our outdoor spaces. The Gardener will be responsible for planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for a wide variety of plants, trees, shrubs, and lawns, ensuring all grounds are kept in excellent condition throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain gardens, parks, or other outdoor spaces through regular mowing, weeding, pruning, trimming, watering, and fertilizing.
  

• Plant and cultivate flowers, shrubs, trees, and other landscape elements.
  

• Identify and treat plant diseases and pest problems using organic or chemical methods.
  

• Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery (e.g. lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers).
  

• Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, snow removal, mulching, and planting based on the time of year.
  

• Ensure pathways and public areas are kept tidy, clean, and safe at all times.
  

• Work collaboratively with groundskeeping or facilities staff on large-scale landscaping or garden design projects.
  

• Follow all health and safety protocols and report hazards or issues promptly.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a gardener, landscaper, or groundskeeper.
  

• Strong knowledge of plants, horticulture practices, and landscaping techniques.
  

• Ability to operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
  

• Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  

• Attention to detail, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
  

• Basic knowledge of safe use and storage of fertilizers and pesticides.
