3 month contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• The Housing Caseworker is responsible for providing support and case management to adults with housing needs, ensuring appropriate advice, intervention and outcomes.
• The role focuses on delivering effective housing solutions, managing caseloads and supporting vulnerable individuals in line with housing legislation and local authority duties.
• This is a fully remote, short-term contract supporting housing services within Dorset.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Manage a caseload of clients requiring housing support and intervention.
• Provide housing advice in line with homelessness legislation and local authority policies.
• Assess housing needs and determine appropriate options, including prevention and relief duties.
• Work with vulnerable adults to secure suitable accommodation solutions.
• Liaise with landlords, housing providers and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties and internal procedures.
• Support clients through the housing process, including applications and decision-making.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate where appropriate.
Skills/Experience:
• Experience working in a housing or homelessness casework role.
• Knowledge of housing legislation (e.g. Homelessness Reduction Act).
• Experience managing caseloads in a local authority or similar setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support vulnerable adults with complex needs.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Experience with housing systems and case management tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Additional Information:
• Bi-Weekly Payments.
• Fully remote role.
• £30 per hour (UMB).
• Location: Dorset (remote working).
• Start date: ASAP.
