2 Month Contract With A local Authority


Job Purpose

To provide high-quality housing management services within designated neighbourhoods, ensuring tenants receive effective support while managing property lettings, terminations, rent accounts, and associated administrative functions. This role ensures compliance with relevant housing legislation, tenancy agreements, and organizational policies.




Key Responsibilities

  • Tenancy Management & Property Lettings
  • Manage the full lifecycle of tenancies, including new lettings, renewals, and terminations.
  • Conduct property inspections prior to letting and on termination to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Support tenants with tenancy agreements and provide guidance on responsibilities and rights.
  • Ensure timely collection of rent and service charges, following up on arrears in line with policy.
  • Raise recharges to tenants for repairs, damages, or other recoverable costs.
  • Authorize and process invoices related to tenancy and property management activities.
  • Respond to tenant enquiries and resolve issues relating to tenancy and property matters.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to maintain safe and well-managed neighbourhoods.
  • Support initiatives to foster positive tenant relationships and community cohesion.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenancy activity, property inspections, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure all housing management activities comply with current legislation and internal policies.
  • Produce reports and statistics as required by management.
  • Support housing team projects and initiatives to improve services.
  • Attend relevant training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation and best practices.
  • Represent the organization professionally in interactions with tenants and stakeholders.


Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in housing management and tenancy work.

  • Proficiency in property lettings, terminations, and related administrative processes.

  • Experience raising recharges and processing invoices.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, tenancy agreements, and best practice standards.

  • Experience in community engagement and neighbourhood management.

  • Familiarity with housing management software and systems.

  • Conflict resolution or mediation experience.
