2 Month Contract with A Local Authority


Job Purpose:
To provide expert housing advice and support to clients, ensuring statutory compliance and delivering effective housing solutions. This role involves completing housing assessments, developing Personal Housing Plans (PHPs), making housing decisions, and managing relevant casework, including ad hoc tasks.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive housing assessments for clients, gathering and verifying relevant information.
  • Prepare and maintain Personal Housing Plans (PHPs) tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Assess applications, make informed housing decisions, and communicate outcomes clearly.
  • Undertake casework duties, including ad hoc tasks, to support the Housing Options team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory guidance and organizational policy.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure consistent client support.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in housing casework, assessments, or related advisory roles.
  • Knowledge of housing law, homelessness legislation, and local authority procedures.
  • Experience in preparing PHPs and writing clear, reasoned decisions.
  • Strong assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage clients sensitively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and work independently.
  • Relevant housing or social care qualification desirable (e.g., CIH Level 3 or 4).
