Summary

  • The Housing Sustainment Team Manager is tasked with leading a proactive, strength-based approach to homelessness prevention. This role is crucial in identifying households at risk of homelessness early and delivering tailored interventions to prevent crises and support long-term housing stability. The manager will oversee a team of Housing Sustainment Officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice, support, and engagement with residents and partners to sustain tenancies and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Housing Sustainment Officers.
  • Develop and implement a proactive approach to identifying households at risk of homelessness.
  • Ensure the delivery of tailored advice, support, and interventions to prevent homelessness.
  • Promote early identification of at-risk households using data insights and partner referrals.
  • Drive upstream prevention activity to address issues before crisis point.
  • Ensure a strength-based and person-centred approach to service delivery.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience in housing, homelessness prevention, or tenancy sustainment services.
  • Experience managing or supervising a team in a frontline service environment.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families at risk of housing instability.
  • Experience working with partner organisations in a multi-agency environment.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Relevant qualification in Housing, Social Work, or a related field (desirable).
  • Professional membership (e.g., CIH) or working towards (desirable).

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Basic DBS required.
  • Location: Waltham Forest Town Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 4JF, United Kingdom.
  • Work pattern: To be discussed at interview, but maximum 2 days per week onsite.
  • We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
