3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
About the Role
As a Local Land Charges Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a professional, customer-focused Local Land Charges (LLC) service. You will also provide support across a range of administrative tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, validate, and process official and personal Local Land Charge searches accurately and within required timeframes.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Calculate search fees and ensure correct charges are applied.
- Support the transfer of the register to HM Land Registry, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain databases and filing systems, managing queries via the shared email mailbox and ensuring timely resolution.
- Support the Local Land Charges Programme, including data discovery, cleansing, and digitisation activities.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, innovation, and identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
Requirements
- Experience in a busy office environment providing customer-facing services.
- Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Confident IT user with the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player who enjoys collaborating and supporting colleagues.
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and partners.
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of local land charges, planning, or conveyancing processes.
