Summary
- The MASH Practitioner (Unqualified) will play a crucial role in supporting the Children & Young People’s Service by engaging in multi-agency safeguarding processes, conducting early help assessments, and facilitating timely decision-making for children, young people, and families. The position involves gathering, analysing, and documenting information from various professionals, escalating safeguarding risks when necessary, and ensuring that children receive appropriate support promptly. This role requires direct interaction with families, coordination of early help interventions, and effective collaboration with partner agencies.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and escalate safeguarding concerns promptly in accordance with statutory guidance.
- Utilize the Signs of Safety and Wellbeing framework to analyze risk and aid in decision-making.
- Participate in multi-agency risk assessments, strategy discussions, and intervention planning.
- Implement early help approaches and evidence-based interventions to assist children and families.
- Provide clear advice, guidance, and referrals to suitable services and community resources.
- Support families with early social, emotional, behavioral, or health-related needs.
- Operate within homes and community settings, including transporting children when necessary.
Essential Experience Required
- Direct experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Background in early help, family support, or community-based roles.
- Experience contributing to assessments, planning, and review processes (CAF, multi-agency, or statutory).
Essential Qualifications Required
- No formal qualification required (unqualified role).
- Enhanced Children’s DBS (essential).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Enhanced DBS with barred list required.
- Hybrid work model: 3 days office-based, 2 days working from home/community.
- Bi-weekly payment schedule.
