Job description
3 months contract with local authority
The Monitoring & Responding Officer SC6 plays a crucial role within the Connected Care Service. This position is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable residents by responding to emergency calls and providing necessary support. The officer will work within a 24/7 service, handling calls through the Jontek’s Answerlink platform and offering mobile response services when needed. This role requires a compassionate individual with excellent communication skills, capable of adapting to changing priorities and maintaining equipment to ensure uninterrupted service.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls from vulnerable service users across the borough.
- Provide appropriate intervention and support to ensure the well-being of service users.
- Conduct home visits to assist residents during emergencies.
- Maintain and perform general maintenance on assistive technology equipment.
- Work in shifts covering 24/7 service operations, including weekends and unsociable hours.
- Participate in a 20-minute handover at the start of each shift.
- Utilize the Jontek’s Answerlink call monitoring platform effectively.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience in an emergency call monitoring center, specifically with vulnerable service users.
- Proficiency in using call monitoring platforms such as PNC, Verklizan, or preferably Answerlink (Jontek).
- Strong communication and compassionate engagement skills.
- Ability to adapt to a varied role with changing priorities.
- Understanding of safeguarding requirements.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Full clean UK driving license and ability to pass the council driving assessment.
- Experience in providing mobile response services and competent driving skills.
