6-month contract position with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 6-month contract position with a local authority. The role involves managing and controlling staff responsible for on-street and off-street parking enforcement. The primary purpose is to ensure that all service specifications, operational standards, and statutory requirements related to traffic regulations are consistently met across the Borough. The position provides day-to-day leadership, performance oversight, resource planning, and operational delivery of enforcement activities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed leadership, supervision, and direction to staff undertaking parking enforcement duties.
  • Allocate, organize, and, where necessary, reorganise staffing resources to meet operational and service needs.
  • Manage staff deployment, beat planning, and rota scheduling to ensure full enforcement coverage during required hours.
  • Monitor the volume and standards of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued to ensure expected outputs and performance levels are achieved.
  • Prepare regular performance reports, including service trends, compliance reports, monthly statistics, and performance projections.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience managing staff in a parking enforcement or similar operational environment.
  • Experience organizing beat deployment and staff rotas to achieve full enforcement coverage.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • Relevant supervisory or management training (formal qualification desirable but not essential).
  • Evidence of continued professional development in enforcement, compliance, or operational management (advantageous).

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week
