4 Months Contract with Local Authority

Summary

  • The Parks Operative will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented parks service during the peak summer months. This position is essential for ensuring that outdoor spaces are kept to a high standard for both residents and visitors. The primary focus will be on litter picking and general maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform litter picking duties across parks and open spaces.
  • Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of public areas to a high standard.
  • Assist with general environmental upkeep tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the parks team to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Adhere to health & safety guidelines and environmental standards.
  • Use vehicles to travel between sites as required.
  • Respond flexibly to changing work demands, especially during peak seasonal periods.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor, environmental, or maintenance role is desirable.
  • Experience working as part of a team in a physically active environment.
  • Experience performing manual tasks in outdoor settings.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Basic education (GCSE level or equivalent) is desirable.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday.
  • Reason for vacancy: Additional staff needed during summer months.
  • Length of contract: 4 months.
