Job description

3 Month Contract With A Local Authority


Role Overview

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to a varied caseload of planning and development matters. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal advice on planning law issues and support decision-making processes.




Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on all aspects of planning and environmental law
  • Draft and review planning agreements (including Section 106 agreements)
  • Advise on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement matters
  • Support officers and stakeholders with legal input on planning policy and decisions
  • Attend Planning Committee meetings where required (desirable, not essential)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks


Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive in England & Wales
  • Demonstrable experience in planning law (local authority experience desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and procedures
  • Ability to manage workload independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
