2 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• A skilled Plasterer/Multitrade Operative is required to support responsive repairs, voids, and planned maintenance work across a portfolio of residential properties and social spaces.
• The role involves carrying out high-quality plastering works and associated multitrade tasks to ensure homes meet safe, decent, and habitable standards.
• This is a full-time, site-based position requiring strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive, organised approach to daily workload.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Carry out a full range of plastering works on occupied and vacant properties, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
• Assist with additional multitrade duties related to maintenance, such as tiling, basic carpentry, or decorating.
• Respond to both scheduled appointments and emergency repairs, maximising productivity while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Accurately report any follow-on works and update job status using a PDA or electronic device.
• Liaise regularly with supervisors, planners, and team members to ensure smooth job progression.
• Maintain van stock, tools, and equipment; ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Support the supervision and training of apprentices where necessary.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and ensures safe, responsible use of a company vehicle (if provided).
• Ensure compliance with all organisational policies, health and safety protocols, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Skills/Experience:
• Proven experience in plastering across a variety of property types (occupied and void).
• Experience working within a responsive repairs, social housing, or property maintenance environment.
• Multitrade experience desirable (e.g., tiling, basic plumbing, painting, or carpentry).
• Competent in using handheld devices (PDA/tablet) for job management and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of site health and safety and working practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and customer-facing skills; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to identify and request appropriate materials or tools to complete tasks.

Additional Information:
• Valid UK driving licence (essential for mobile roles).
• Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00).
