Summary
- The Procurement Officer plays a crucial role in delivering effective procurement services that ensure value for money and social value outcomes. This position supports the organization’s transformation agenda by guiding departments through compliant procurement processes and enabling strategic sourcing decisions. The post-holder will work within a category-based procurement structure (e.g., People, Place, Resources), providing advice, managing procurement activities, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement processes for contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Manage procurement exercises and tendering activities, including contracts up to defined financial thresholds.
- Support the award and management of contracts delivering best value and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure contracts include robust commercial terms and KPIs.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management within the public or private sector.
- Proven experience managing tendering and procurement processes end-to-end.
- Experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Knowledge of supplier relationship management and contract performance monitoring.
- Experience working within regulated procurement environments (preferred, especially public sector).
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in procurement, business, finance, or related field.
- Working towards or holding a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification (desirable/required depending on level).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
