Summary
- The EHCP Casework Officer is a critical role within a local authority, responsible for managing the statutory elements of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) and Annual Review processes. This position is essential for supporting children and young people with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) by ensuring their educational, health, and care plans are accurately developed and maintained. This is a 3-month contract role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young individuals.
Responsibilities
- Manage a designated caseload of children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and Annual Reviews.
- Coordinate and oversee all statutory processes associated with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and prescribed timescales.
- Draft, develop, amend, and maintain accurate and legally compliant EHCPs that clearly reflect the child or young person’s needs and agreed provision.
- Monitor and progress annual review processes to ensure educational outcomes and provisions remain appropriate and effective.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
- Experience managing a demanding caseload while meeting challenging deadlines and competing priorities.
- Experience working effectively within a busy team environment and independently.
- Experience facilitating multi-agency meetings involving a range of stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications Required
- GCSE Grade A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
- A-Level qualification or Level 3 equivalent.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- £280 per day umbrella.
- Remote working.
- Enhanced DBS with barred list required.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
