Summary

The SEN Support Worker will provide high-quality, person-centered support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them access education, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. This role is a 1-month contract with a local authority, focusing on delivering essential support to enhance the educational experience and personal growth of children with SEN.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children with SEN in educational or community settings.
Implement strategies recommended by teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and EHCP plans.
Support children with communication, behavior regulation, emotional well-being, and personal development.
Assist with activities that promote independence, learning, and social interaction.
Support children with personal care tasks where necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (autism, learning disabilities, behavioral needs, etc.).

Essential Qualifications Required

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience.
Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete immediately).
