3-month contract role with a local authority

Summary

  • This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority aimed at supporting the delivery of statutory SEND services. The position involves managing a caseload of children and young people, ensuring all stages of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process are completed efficiently and in compliance with legislative requirements. The role is crucial for clearing backlog cases, progressing phase transfers, and developing high-quality plans through effective communication with schools, settings, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and take full ownership of a caseload of children and young people.
  • Progress phase transfers and address backlog cases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure accountability for all assigned cases from start to completion.
  • Complete all stages of the SEND/EHCP process in line with statutory guidelines.
  • Draft and amend Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and amendment notices.
  • Ensure plans are clear, accurate, and tailored to individual needs.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working within SEND, education, or local authority services.
  • Experience managing caseloads and working to deadlines.
  • Experience drafting or contributing to EHCPs or similar documentation (desirable).

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written communication, particularly in drafting formal plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Basic DBS required.
  • We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
