Job description
3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- The SEND
Transformation Lead will play a key role in driving and embedding
transformational change across SEND services, with a primary focus on
stabilising and improving the restructured Statutory SEND Teams.
- The role will
provide operational leadership and change management expertise to ensure new
structures, processes, and ways of working are effectively implemented,
resulting in sustainable improvements in performance, quality, and outcomes for
children and young people with SEND.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Lead and support the implementation of restructured
Statutory SEND Teams.
- Ensure roles, responsibilities, workflows, and interfaces
are clearly defined, communicated, and embedded.
- Provide hands-on leadership during periods of change,
supporting teams to transition effectively.
- Act as a central coordination point between statutory teams,
senior leaders, and partner organisations.
- Review, develop, and implement policies, standard operating
procedures (SOPs), and guidance to ensure compliance with statutory duties.
- Embed robust EHCP quality assurance processes to drive
improvements in consistency, quality, and timeliness.
- Provide expert advice on complex EHCP and statutory
casework, using insight to strengthen practice and processes.
Essential Experience Required
- Significant experience working within SEND services, with a
strong understanding of statutory processes.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree-level
qualification or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of
continued professional development.

- Work pattern - 2 days in the office per week
- We work on bi-weekly schedule.
