Job Purpose

• The postholder will provide expert leadership in public health data analysis, modelling, interpretation, and visualisation, while ensuring robust data governance, information security, and compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
  

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Public Health Intelligence to support strategic planning and commissioning
  
• Undertake, oversee, and quality‑assure advanced analysis of large public health datasets
  
• Lead on and contribute to core intelligence products, including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), and other health needs assessments
  
• Provide expert methodological advice on statistical, epidemiological, and analytical approaches
  

Essential Experience Required

• Substantial experience in public health intelligence, health analytics, or a related field
  
• Experience of analysing and interpreting complex health datasets
  
• Proven project management experience in a public health, local authority, or health setting
  
• Experience working with data governance, data quality, and information security
  
• Experience of stakeholder engagement and partnership working
  

Essential Qualifications Required

• First degree or equivalent relevant experience (e.g. public health, statistics, epidemiology, health informatics)
  
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills

• Working hours: 22.20 hours per week (Mon - Wed)
