2 - 3 Month Contract with a local Authority

Job Purpose

• We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering statutory social care duties and promoting recovery-focused, person-centred support.
  

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Undertake statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, including: Section 9 assessments, Section 27 reviews
  
• Support individuals eligible for Section 117 aftercare under the Mental Health Act 1983/2007.
  
• Apply principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Equality Act 2010, and other relevant legislation to ensure lawful and ethical practice.
  
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely records in line with professional standards and organisational policies.
  
• Advocate for service users, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
  

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  
• Proven experience in adult mental health social work.
  
• Strong working knowledge of: Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983/2007, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Equality Act 2010, Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional judgments., Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
