Job Summary:
• London Borough of Haringey is seeking an Estate Management Surveyor (Senior Commercial Surveyor) to join the Capital Projects and Property team at Alexandra House. This is an interim role from 1 February 2026 to 26 April 2026, working 40 hours per week (09:00–17:00).
• The role provides professional property management and strategic advice across the Council’s portfolio, contributing to economic regeneration, development projects, and efficient management of assets valued at approximately £2.77 billion.
• The postholder will support councillors, senior stakeholders, and internal teams, translating business strategies into actionable property and commercial outcomes.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Manage and optimise the Council’s property portfolio to maximise financial and social value.
• Identify and deliver asset management initiatives, including lettings, rent reviews, re-gears, refurbishments, and hold/sell analysis.
• Deliver commercial arrangements such as leases, acquisitions, and disposals to meet Council objectives.
• Act as an “intelligent client” for property managers, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Support property strategy formulation, including development, placemaking, and regeneration initiatives.
• Prepare robust business cases, feasibility studies, and financial appraisals for projects and asset disposals.
• Liaise with senior colleagues, councillors, legal, and finance teams to ensure aligned and compliant decision-making.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality professional advice.
• Represent the Council at relevant meetings, boards, and approvals for property-related decisions.
• Maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, and professional requirements.

Skills/Experience:
• Current experience as a property professional in public or private sector, with expertise in asset management and commercial property.
• Knowledge of property portfolio management, acquisitions, disposals, leases, rent reviews, and refurbishments.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and value creation.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meeting tight deadlines.
• Understanding of legislative, policy, and contextual frameworks affecting local government property and public sector assets.
• Proven track record of advising senior stakeholders and elected members.
