Job Purpose

Kingston Council is seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Officer to support the Revenue and Benefits service, covering Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and Business Rates (NNDR).

This is a key administrative role within a small, friendly, and busy team, providing essential support to ensure the smooth running of the service.



Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and scan incoming post accurately and efficiently

  • Index post and emails onto the NEC Revenue and Benefits system

  • Triage incoming emails relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and Business Rates (NNDR)

  • Run and distribute various reports from the DWP portal and for the Revenue and Benefits team

  • Provide general business and administrative support to the service

  • Support the team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as required


Requirements

  • Good IT skills

  • Strong general administrative skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively

  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills

  • A proactive, self-starting approach to work

  • Basic DBS Check/Willing to undergo one
