3 Months Contract with a Local Authority

Job Purpose

  • To investigate and respond to informal and statutory representations and appeals related to parking enforcement and associated recovery actions. The post holder will manage correspondence efficiently, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures, and provide high-quality written responses to customers, stakeholders, and external bodies. The role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload within set timeframes.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Investigate and respond to all informal challenges, formal representations, and statutory appeals relating to parking penalties.

  • Review evidence, photographs, case notes, and enforcement records to determine the appropriate outcome.

  • Draft clear, accurate, and legally compliant written responses to motorists, external agencies, and enforcement bodies.

  • Prepare and submit evidence packs for appeals to independent adjudicators (e.g., London Tribunals).

  • Ensure all correspondence is processed within statutory deadlines and organisational performance targets.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working in a parking enforcement, appeals, or regulatory environment (desired).

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse information and make informed, evidence-based decisions.

  • Experience handling high-volume correspondence or casework requiring accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.

  • Training in parking legislation or enforcement processes (desirable).

Additional Information to Note

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week

  • Please note we work on bi-weekly payment
