3 months contract with a Local Authority

Summary
  • This role involves managing requests for statutory Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Needs assessments and supporting the development of EHC Plans. The position is crucial in ensuring that children and young people receive the necessary support under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2014.
Responsibilities
  • Administer statutory assessment procedures for children and young people with education, health, and care needs.
  • Liaise closely with parents, schools, and other professionals to manage EHC assessments for individuals from birth to 25 years.
  • Co-produce EHC Plans with families, focusing on a person-centered approach and considering the aspirations of the family.
  • Ensure all practices and procedures are followed to provide an efficient and effective service.
  • Administer, maintain, and monitor a specific caseload of children and young people with special educational, health, and care needs.
  • Handle all aspects of statutory assessments for Education, Health, and Care Plans.
  • Provide front-line services, including responding to team emails and telephone inquiries regarding EHC Needs Assessment and monitoring services.
Requirements
  • Experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and writing plans.
  • Familiarity with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience working with a range of partners, including parents, carers, families, and schools.
  • Knowledge of other legislation related to children, young people, and those with SEND.
  • General level of education qualification.
  • DBS Enhanced check is required.
