Summary

This role is for an experienced practitioner responsible for delivering high-quality social work services to children, young people, their families, carers, and the wider community. The postholder will manage cases independently, utilising advanced professional judgment and adapting practices to handle complex, sensitive, or unusual cases.

Responsibilities

Manage a complex caseload independently, including high-risk or unusual cases.
Undertake assessments, formulate care plans, and deliver interventions in line with statutory requirements and best practices.
Make professional decisions on levels of risk, safeguarding needs, and appropriate actions.
Lead on complex child protection, court work, permanency planning, or specialist assessments as required.

Essential Experience Required

Minimum 5 years post-qualifying experience (PQE) as a Social Worker.
Significant experience managing complex children’s cases, including safeguarding and child protection.
Experience conducting assessments, formulating care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions.
Proven ability to analyze risk and make robust, defensible professional decisions.

Essential Qualifications Required

Degree or Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent recognized qualification).
Registration with Social Work England (or equivalent regulatory body if applicable).
Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD).
