Job description
1 Month Contract with a local authorty
Summary
- Join our team for a 1-month contract with a local authority, where you will operate tractors and other street cleansing/horticultural vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (or 7.5 tonnes if your licence permits). Your role will be crucial in delivering a range of environmental and horticultural services, ensuring the maintenance of parks, gardens, nature reserves, green spaces, and streets.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractors and related equipment for tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, flailing, towing, and lifting.
- Maintain public open spaces, including PCC-owned land and areas under PCC responsibility.
- Remove fly tipping, graffiti, fly posting, and other waste as required.
- Work independently or as part of a small team to deliver high-quality services.
- Drive Parks and Streetscene vehicles, including tractors up to 3.5 tonnes (or 7.5 tonnes if licence permits).
Essential Experience
- Previous experience operating tractors and horticultural machinery.
- Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or environmental services.
- Familiarity with using tractor attachments and related equipment.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Essential Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (Category B essential; C1 or higher desirable for 7.5 tonne vehicles).
- Tractor driving certification or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic horticultural or grounds maintenance qualification (desirable).
- Health and Safety awareness training (desirable).
