1 year contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• Provide investigative and enforcement support to Nottinghamshire County Council’s Trading Standards and Communities team.
• Carry out legal and compliance-related project work on a temporary basis.
• Support the Council in maintaining consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and public safety.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Conduct investigations into potential breaches of trading standards and consumer protection law.
• Gather evidence, prepare reports, and liaise with legal teams for enforcement action.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, and internal procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of investigations and actions taken.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Trading Standards and Communities to deliver project outcomes.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, providing advice and updates on investigations.
• Support the implementation of Council initiatives and project objectives.
Skills/Experience:
• Strong understanding of trading standards legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Experience conducting investigations and gathering evidence for legal purposes.
• Ability to prepare reports, legal documentation, and case files.
• Good knowledge of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and colleagues.
• Competence in project work, prioritisation, and working independently.
• Experience with office systems and record-keeping.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to provide references and complete criminal checks.
Additional Information:
• Bi-Weekly Payments.
• Employment type: Temporary, 52 weeks.
• Hours per week: 22, with a hybrid work pattern (2 days remote, 1 day in office).
