Hybrid Role - 2days remote, 3days in the office
40hrs/week
Summary:
This role involves managing the design, delivery, and maintenance of highway infrastructure services or projects. The position requires coordinating with officers and contractors to ensure projects are completed efficiently, adhering to the Council's policies, professional standards, and legislative requirements. The role is crucial for overseeing reactive and winter maintenance regimes and ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, construction, and maintenance of highway infrastructure in line with corporate plans and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations and Health and Safety standards.
- Design engineering works, considering technical options and contract specifications.
- Supervise contracts and contractors, preparing necessary documentation and monitoring performance.
- Organize surveys and site inspections to assess asset conditions and provide technical guidance.
- Manage and monitor revenue and capital budgets, preparing management reports on costs and projections.
- Prepare reports and communications for stakeholders regarding highway projects.
- Oversee asset inventory management, ensuring compliance with codes of practice.
- Plan and conduct quality checks on services, approving consultant and contractor designs.
- Utilize engineering software for design, construction, and project management.
- Supervise technical staff and agency consultants, deputising for the line manager as needed.
- Adhere to customer care guidelines and the Council’s equal opportunities policy.
Requirements
- Experience in managing highway infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and Health and Safety standards.
