3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a Business Support Admin Assistant (Grade 2) to provide high-quality professional support services on a temporary basis to cover a secondment.
• This is a varied role requiring flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work across different services as required.
• The postholder will deliver efficient administrative and clerical support, including meeting support, data management, financial administration, and customer-facing duties.
• The role requires office attendance for a minimum of two days per week, with additional days depending on service needs.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Deliver efficient, effective, and consistent professional support services to internal and external customers.
• Provide reception and switchboard support where required.
• Support meetings, including note-taking and the timely production and distribution of meeting outputs.
• Process orders and monitor stock levels.
• Operate, maintain, and update administrative systems to ensure accurate monitoring, recording, and processing of information.
• Administer business and basic financial processes, including handling monies and responding to queries.
• Maintain accurate files and data records in line with data protection, retention, and archiving requirements.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with Data Protection Act principles at all times.
• Adhere to health, safety, and security policies, reporting issues appropriately.
• Work flexibly as part of a team to ensure continuity of professional support services across the business.
Skills/Experience:
• Previous experience in an administrative or clerical support role.
• Ability to work flexibly across different services and adapt to change.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Experience of supporting meetings, including note-taking and document preparation.
• Competence in using administrative and record-keeping systems.
• Good communication skills with the ability to deal professionally with internal and external customers.
• Experience of handling confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to work independently within established guidelines, as well as part of a team.
Additional Information:
• The closing date: 09/01/2026 @10:00.
• Employer: Birmingham Children’s Trust.
• Hours: 36.5 hours per week (08:45 – 17:15).
• Contract Duration: Approximately 3 months (with potential extension to 5–6 months).
• DBS is required for this role.
