3-Month Contract with a Local Authority

Summary
  • This role involves delivering a high-quality, effective social work service to adults with care and support needs, their carers, and families. The position requires timely intervention within statutory guidelines, adhering to the Care Act wellbeing principles and a strengths-based approach. Newly qualified social workers will work under close supervision with reduced caseloads to ensure professional development and effective service delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate awareness of safeguarding, risk enablement, mental capacity, unwise decision-making, and Making Safeguarding Personal.
  • Provide accurate signposting, information, and advice to ensure residents receive the right help at the right time.
  • Promote wellbeing, independence, prevention, and advocacy services where required.
  • Agree on outcomes with service users and carers; produce personalized support plans.
  • Promote preventative services, universal offers, and Telecare where appropriate.
  • Apply person-centered practice and the principles of personalization.
  • Manage an allocated caseload under the direction of the Team Manager/Senior Practitioner.
  • Recognize and respond to vulnerable adults, including involvement in safeguarding enquiries.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience providing information, advice, and signposting to enable informed decision-making.
  • Experience developing personalized, outcomes-focused support plans, including the use of Direct Payments.
  • Ability to monitor and review support plans against agreed outcomes.
  • Experience producing high-quality reports, court documentation, and electronic case recording.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
  • Enhanced DBS Check.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
