3 month contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• Provide high‑quality HR administrative and advisory support within the HR Business Partnering Team at Southwark Council.
• Assist with employee relations, organisational change, data analysis, and HR business partnering projects.
• Support managers and colleagues across the Council, ensuring effective processes, record‑keeping, and adherence to employment law.
• Develop professional HR advisory skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Provide administrative support for investigations, hearings, TUPE programmes, reorganisations, and workforce planning activities.
• Maintain structured, secure, and accurate HR records, templates, and documentation.
• Coordinate meetings, take notes, and support HRBPs and ER Case Advisors with casework planning.
• Support data extraction, workforce reporting, and monthly HR data analysis.
• Manage vendor setup, invoices, data capture, and other internal HR processes.
• Assist managers with employee investigations, sickness absence, and occupational health referrals.
• Contribute to initiatives promoting inclusion, anti‑racism, and positive organisational culture.

Skills/Experience:
• CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) with evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Solid understanding of HR practices, employment law, and employee relations.
• Experience in HR or administrative roles within a large, complex organisation.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and time‑management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
• Confidence in handling sensitive information and situations with professionalism.
• IT and data skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRMI or similar HR systems.
• Experience of working with Trade Unions is desirable.

Additional Information:
• Bi-Weekly Payments.
• Temporary role: 12 weeks, 36 hours per week.
• Location: 160 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2QH – 2 days per week in the office.
• Rate: £26.83 per hour Limited/Umbrella.
